About
Who are we and what do we do?
The Latin word for success is 'victoria'... as in victorious.

Victoria Labs develops a portfolio of products and services based on research, refinement and practice in the workplace, to improve business performance. We do this by improving the performance and wellbeing of people, the workforce and life-blood of a business.
Victoria Labs emerged from earlier work and discoveries in corporate environments where large investments were being made in performance and teamwork improvement training that returned a poor return on investment (ROI).
How are we different?
Let's summarise the problem we saw that we have set out to resolve.
We observed that much of the training was:
Too theoretical - based on theories shared and repeated for decades without much thought for whether they actually deliver results.
Based on fads and popular movements - not grounded in science and proof.
Too generic - focussing on team bonding and team building without looking at the specific strengths and weaknesses of each team and of the wider workforce.
Inadequate follow-up to reinforce the training - too little planning and support to retain or amplify any learnings or bonding that occurred.
Expensive - not only the cost of the training, trainer, resources and logistics, but in the 'lost time' from the workplace. Why not better balance the time learning with the time practicing and also learning new concepts actually during the working day.
We set out to challenge the status quo and specifically to address these five failings.
Following development and successful trials of a toolkit of interventions, we have been practicing with this toolkit and applying these concepts in the workplace of clients large and small, in person and remotely.
Educational
Our teaching is more education than training...whats the difference? The teachings in education, such as an MBA, have a longer life-span of relevance, compared to the topics and information shared in a training course. Educational teaching provides foundational principals and rationale for any specific details or best-practices that are currently associated with the topic.
Furthermore, our teaching is based on the neuroscience of how we understand, learn and remember.
Designed with Precision
We focus on foundational principles and then the practices or processes that can be exercised in the workplace. This helps people to understand why specific activities, behaviours and capabilities are important and also to help them identify when a seemingly standard 'good practice' or process is not providing the benefits that it should.
With these foundations in place we can then focus on developing the necessary skills that give rise to performant individuals and cohorts whether they be teams, communities, departments or the C-suite.
Finally we can then consider a variety of ways in which new habits can be formed, how new information can be recalled and applied at the appropriate times. We take inspiration from many fiends of science including neuroscience and sports-science.
Check out our training for how to learn and remember, which is of course all based on the very latest breakthroughs in science and research.
